Overnight, US markets tumbled following the announcement of new tariffs. The S&P 500 fell 1.8%, the Dow Jones plunged 650 points, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.7%. Asian markets followed suit, opening lower in early trade.

Former US President Donald Trump confirmed that the 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico would take effect on March 4, as negotiations for an exemption failed.

Meanwhile, OPEC+ is set to resume oil production after multiple delays, despite Trump’s pressure to lower global oil prices.
