Overnight, Wall Street tumbled after the announcement of new tariffs by US President Donald Trump. The S&P 500 dropped 1.8%, the Dow Jones plunged 650 points, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.7%. Following the US market sell-off, Asian stocks also opened lower on Tuesday.

Trump confirmed that a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico would take effect on March 4 after failed negotiations for an exemption. This move has raised concerns about trade disruptions and inflationary pressures.

Meanwhile, OPEC+ is set to proceed with its long-delayed plan to ramp up oil production despite pressure from Trump to keep oil prices low.

The Nifty 50 is struggling to hold above the 22,000 mark after testing a low of 22,004 in the last session. Bulls will aim to push the index past Monday’s high of 22,260 for a possible recovery.

Key stocks to watch today include IEX, IndiGrid Investment, ASK Automotive, REC, RBL Bank, NAVA, Godrej Properties, Intellect Design Arena, and Uno Minda.
