During the holiday-shortened week, broader indices underperformed the main indices amid concerns over high valuations. Meanwhile, the benchmark indices also faced pressure due to continued foreign outflows, driven by investor uncertainty over U.S. tariffs.

The BSE Large-cap Index declined 3.4 percent, the BSE Mid-cap Index fell 4.4 percent, and the BSE Small-cap Index dropped 6 percent during the week. In February, the Mid-cap and Small-cap indices lost 10.4 percent and 13.7 percent, respectively, while the Large-cap index declined 6.5 percent.

This week, the Nifty50 index shed 671.2 points (-2.94%) to close at 22,124.7, while the BSE Sensex dropped 2,112.96 points (-2.80%) to settle at 73,198.1. For the month of February, both indices registered declines of over 5.5 percent.
